A G2 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for October 9, which may result in visible auroras across nine U.S. states. The phenomenon could be seen from Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. Residents are advised to find a clear sky away from urban areas to view the aurora. The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center issued the prediction.
